A stone-laying ceremony was held in Kosshy city to mark the construction of a public cultural and sports complex with a capacity of more than 1000 people and an area of 8500 square meters. The construction is expected to be completed in March 2025.
Afterward, the social facility worth 9.6 billion tenge will be gifted to the city council. The Mayor of Akmola region, Marat Akhmetzhanov, gave the start for the construction and emphasized the relevance of this socially important project in his welcoming speech.
"Taking into account the strategic aim of the development of the suburb area as Kosshy by attracting investors will help to transform Kosshy into a vibrant and modern city. The public cultural and sports center will become a place of attraction for the residents and guests of Kosshy. I would like to point out that currently, there are no cultural and leisure facilities in the city. This project is also remarkable for considering the interests of different generations among the residents. I would like to express my gratitude to the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation for the social responsibility of business towards the citizens of Akmola region," noted Marat Akhmetzhanov, Mayor of Akmola region.
"One of the major objectives of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation is to improve the life conditions of Kazakhstani people by implementing innovative projects. So will be the Community Center in Kosshy, the first center in Kazakhstan where citizens will spend their leisure time in a high-quality way. We have approached the design, selection of materials, and equipment of the center with great attention to the needs of the population of the city and taking into account the world's best practices," said Erlan Ospanov, CEO of Verny Capital.
The Center will consist of several blocks – such as sports, leisure and cultural, as well as education. This will include a 233-person cinema hall, a 300-person lecture hall, conference halls, studios, reading room at the library, exhibition halls, sports hall with tribunes, choreography halls, library, art studio, two winter gardens, culinary studios, robotics rooms, specialized training rooms, pre-school educational center, and a cafe.
The Community Centre will be the second social project gifted to Kosshy city by the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation. A comprehensive school with a capacity for 1500 children opened in September of this year. "Comfortable School" standards were firstly realized in Kazakhstan.
