On August 30, over 100 families affected by floods received keys to new comfortable houses in Kobda district of Aktobe region. 98 houses were built in the village of Kobda and 17 more in the village of Zharyk, all built with the support of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation.
Each house with the area from 80 to 100 square meters is equipped with modern conveniences, including bathrooms and boiler rooms for independent heating. Presenting the keys to the new residents, Akim of Aktobe region Askhat Shakharov emphasized that those affected by the disaster received timely assistance from the state and private benefactors.
“We are grateful to not indifferent businessmen for their contribution to the restoration of our region after the disaster. Joint work with the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation to provide the victims with housing has demonstrated how important it is to unite in difficult times. The joy of newcomers returning to normal life inspires us to continue our cooperation for the benefit of the region,” said Askhat Shakharov.
Many of those who received new housing were temporarily staying with relatives or renting accommodation. Zhadyra Ayapbergenova, a mother of four children who has lived in Kobda district for more than 30 years, shared her impressions.
“During the floods, the water in the house rose to 20 centimeters and we lost everything in one moment. Thanks to the support of philanthropists and the state, we have a new house, a new hope. We are very grateful for this help. We liked the house, we have already come earlier, watched the construction process. It has everything for comfortable living, including heating and bathrooms,” she said.
Foundation Director Marat Aitmagambetov emphasized the importance of supporting the affected families: “We always strive to support people in difficult moments. Losing a roof over your head is a difficult ordeal for anyone. Our task was not only to build comfortable and quality houses in time, but also to help people to return to normal life, to restore confidence in the future”.
In the coming days, the Fund will hand over the keys to 32 more houses, which will fully complete the large-scale project to provide housing for more than 400 families in Aktobe region. Earlier, 106 apartments in Aktobe city and 162 houses in different districts of the region were handed over to the residents of the region.
In total, Bulat Utemuratov’s group of companies allocated about 12.5 billion tenge to help flood victims in Kazakhstan, of which more than 10 billion tenge was provided by the charity fund, while Kar-Tel and RG Gold contributed 1 billion tenge each.
