Airport passenger terminal construction
The Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, together with the Verny Capital group of companies, built a new passenger terminal with a total area of 7.5 thousand square meters and transferred it to the municipal ownership of the city. The terminal is equipped with modern equipment, including a telescopic gangway, an automated baggage handling system, as well as lounges for transit passengers and VIP clients. Equipment, technologies and materials of international brands were used during the construction.
Besides, the terminal has self-check-in counters, a Duty Free zone, prayer rooms and mother-and-child rooms, as well as specialized spaces for border and customs officers, phytosanitary and veterinary officers, sanitary and epidemiological control workers and the linear police department.
The terminal design was developed by the Turkish design company GMW Mimarlic, which has twenty years of experience working on airports in various countries around the world, including the Netherlands, Russia, Turkey and the Persian Gulf countries. The renovated airport meets the modern standards of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
