Personalized scholarship for talented schoolchildren and students of wind instrument classes
In 2018, the first scholarship named after Batyrkhan Shukenov was established together with the Batyrkhan Shukenov Foundation. It became an annual support for talented students of wind instrument classes throughout Kazakhstan.
To participate, contestants submitted video recordings of their performance of musical pieces of their choice and were interviewed by jury members, who assessed the participants’ performance skills, artistry, and motivation.
Every year, young musicians received 10 grants in the amounts of 250,000 to 500,000 tenge (6 scholarships for schoolchildren and 4 scholarships for students). The scholarship for university students was 500 thousand tenge, and for pupils of specialized schools – 250 thousand tenge.
Over the years of the scholarship’s existence, 30 talented musicians from different parts of Kazakhstan received grants.
In 2022, the annual scholarship program grew into the Flute Academy, where students and pupils of specialized institutions take practical master classes from leading music teachers.
