Tennis Stars Support Children with Autism in Almaty

The International Tournament of ATP Series, which is the fifth in the history of Kazakhstan, takes place in the Southern Capital in 13-20 October.
Visiting Asyl Miras Autism Centers has become a good tradition and a part of a charitable program of the ATP Series Tournament in Kazakhstan. The participants of Almaty Tournament – Frances Tiafoe from the USA, World No.17, and Adrian Mannarino from France, the winner of last-year АТР Tournament got an understanding of Asyl Miras Autism Centers operation, which help children in 12 regions of Kazakhstan.
Asyl Miras specialists provide diagnostics, education programs, and support to families, helping children in better adaptation to their social lives. There are six programs for autistic children and they aim at educational and social skills development. Over the years, more than 16 thousand of children have been educated in the Centers, and their shills have improved twice in average. All the services by Asyl Miras Centers are free of charge.
“We are happy about being able to combine sport and charity in such important event,” said Marat Aitmagambetov, the Director of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation. “Visits made by the Starts of World Tennis draw attention to autism issue and increase social awareness of the Autism Spectrum Disorders. It is extremely important, since parents to autistic children must not miss the right moment and recognize the first symptoms of ASDs: the sooner a child undergoes a diagnostics assessment and takes an educational course needed for social skills development, the higher their chances for a successful social integration are.”
A public person, the Director of Milosserdiye, Voluntary Body – Aruzhan Sain, who has been promoting the programs to support children and families bringing up children with ASDs since 2011, has also noted the importance of Asyl Miras Autism Centers activity: “I have been aware of the work done by the Asyl Miras specialists for a long time and I know how important it is to the children and families with ASD children to get methodical and psychological support. I would like to call out all the parents to be more attentive to their children’s development and behavior and not to be afraid of addressing the corrective centers for help.”
Over the years ATP Tournaments took place in Kazakhstan, Asyl Miras Autism Centers were visited by the Stars of World Tennis such as Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Dominic Thiem, Stan Wawrinka, Sebastian Korda, and others.
The Bulat Utemuratov Foundation marks its tenth anniversary in 2024. Over 10 years of its functioning, the Foundation has allocated more than 200 mln USD for charitable projects in health care, culture, education and infrastructure development, making a great contribution to social development of our country.
