New Terminal at Kyzylorda Airport Is Recognized with Prestigious EUROBAK Award

The new passenger terminal at Korkyt Ata Airport in Kyzylorda will play an important role in the development of the region’s transport infrastructure.
Its area totals to 7,500 m2. Once commissioned, the terminal will increase the airport’s capacity 7 times up to 2 million passengers per year. This will enhance transport accessibility and create new opportunities for attracting investment and tourists. The terminal is fully equipped with advanced technologies, including a telescopic passageway and an automated baggage handling system.
The Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, which donated US$ 35 million towards this charitable project, was presented with a prestigious award from the European Business Association of Kazakhstan (EUROBAK) in the Corporate Social Responsibility category in recognition of its contribution to the construction of the new terminal.
Speaking at the awarding ceremony Almaz Sharman, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, noted the significance of the project for the region,
“We are pleased that our endeavor to support long-term, socially significant projects has been acknowledged and marked with such a prestigious award. The airport in Kyzylorda is more than just a transport hub, it is a symbol of hope for the development of the region and improvement of living conditions for its locals. We are proud of the contribution the Foundation made into this important deed and believe that the new terminal will become a driver of economic and social growth.”
Upon completion of the construction, the new terminal was transferred to the city. Its official opening is expected in the near future.
The construction of the airport is one of the many social projects implemented by the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation. Since its establishment in 2014, the Foundation has been actively supporting healthcare, education, ecology and social programs in Kazakhstan.
The 2024 marks a significant milestone for the Foundation, which has invested over US$ 200 million in various charitable projects over 10 years of its operation, making a substantial impact on the development of society and the country as a whole.
