Bekbolat Turgynovich Kurmanali, Chief Physician of the Central District Hospital, “Now, equipment for the maternity department has become essential for our hospital, because from October of last year the maternity department of the Merke Central District Hospital had been transferred to the second level of regionalization of perinatal care. Now, pregnant women, birthing mothers and puerperants with certain pathology, whom had been sent previously for act of delivery to Zhambyl city, will get medical services in our hospital. No less important to render rescue emergency care to newborns with various pathological states. In 2018, 1,654 children were born in Merke district, among whom, unfortunately, there were children with pathologies.
We also needed a modern reanimobile for patients’ transportation. Now we could transport pregnant women and serious patients to the higher levels of medical care – to the city of Zhambyl and Almaty. An accompanying physician will have at hand everything required, including an artificial pulmonary ventilation device and defibrillator. We thank the Bulat Utemuratov’s Foundation for such present!”
The funds for the equipment were collected by the participants of the Burabike, the VI charitable bike ride, which took place in August 2018. In total, last year, 205 million Tenge were collected, and for all years of the bike ride the guests donated almost 700 million Tenge.
“Every year, thanks to generousness and unindifference of the participants of the bike ride, we purchase vital equipment for hospitals, perinatal an rehabilitation centers and orphan asylums throughout Kazakhstan. Five rural and district medical institutions were selected to be beneficiaries in 2018. We called to each of them in order to understand what exact equipment they need most of all,” Marat Aitmagambetov, Director of the Bulat Utemuratov’s Foundation, told.
This year the Burbike will also take place in August in the territory of Rixos Borovoe Hotel in the Shchuchinsk-Borovskaya resort area. As Ministry of Culture and Sport Arystanbek Mulhamediuly noted, the Burabike, annual bike ride, promotes “the development and popularization of cycling in the Republic of Kazakhstan and demonstrates responsive attitude to children who are in need of treatment and rehabilitation”.
