Community Center in Kosshy Honored with Prestigious EUROBAK Award

The Bulat Utemuratov Foundation was named a winner of the prestigious EUROBAK Awards 2025 in two categories.

The Bulat Utemuratov Foundation was named a winner of the prestigious EUROBAK Awards 2025 (European Business Association of Kazakhstan) in two categories, recognizing its major contributions to social responsibility and inclusion.

In the “Corporate Social Responsibility” category, the Foundation received the award for its construction of a state-of-the-art multifunctional community center in the town of Kosshy.

The landmark cultural and sports complex, built to international standards, opened its doors to residents in March 2025. Spanning 8,500 square meters, the facility can host up to 1,000 visitors simultaneously. The $20 million project was gifted to the people of Kosshy and donated free of charge to the city administration.

The community center brings together sports, educational, and leisure spaces under one roof. It features a cinema, lecture halls, exhibition and conference rooms, studios, coworking areas, a large library, and a multi-purpose sports hall. Outdoor areas include fields for football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and table tennis, as well as workout zones and a scenic walking alley.

Children can choose from a wide range of clubs — from robotics and chess to choreography and crafts — while adults enjoy comfortable areas for work, communication, and recreation. Entry is free, and all programs are accessible to everyone.

The entire infrastructure is fully adapted for people with disabilities. The project forms part of the Foundation’s broader program to develop social infrastructure and support local communities across Kazakhstan.

“We believe that sustainable development begins with people and the places where they can meet, learn, and be inspired. The community center in Kosshy is more than just a building — it’s a gathering place for generations, a symbol of openness and unity. We are truly honored to have this project recognized by EUROBAK,” said Ainur Karbozova, CEO of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation.

In addition, the Foundation received a second EUROBAK Award for its nationwide awareness campaign dedicated to Autism Awareness Month. The initiative aimed to raise public understanding of autism spectrum disorders, promote inclusion, and support families raising children with ASD.

The Foundation has been implementing its autism program for over 10 years. To date, 12 “Asyl Miras” Autism Centers have been established across Kazakhstan, providing free evidence-based support for children and families.

It is worth noting that the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation was also recognized by EUROBAK in 2024 for its contribution to Kazakhstan’s infrastructure development — winning an award for the construction of the new airport terminal in Kyzylorda.
