The Leadership Academy program for pupils of Kazakh schools starts in Kazakhstan
The Bulat Utemuratov’s Foundation is launching the Leadership Academy program in cooperation with the Akimats of the Turkestan Region and Shymkent. The program goal is to support and develop leadership skills among schoolchildren in grades 5-11 and teach skills that are in demand and that are not taught in school

Communication skills, public speaking, time planning and management, self-presentation and developing self-confidence – all of this will be taught to children under the Leadership Academy program.
Pupils of grades 5-11 of the cities of Shymkent, Turkestan and Turkestan Region will be the first to start training at the Leadership Academy, and this is more than 15,000 children. Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Atyrau, Mangystau, West Kazakhstan, Aktobe and Almaty regions will gradually join the program over the next five years, and the total program budget will be 5 million US Dollars.
“Young civic-minded leaders with modern world-view are what we need now. Therefore, it is very important to educate strong leaders from among modern youth for the younger generation to have a competitive advantage in the age of globalization,” said Umirzak Shukeyev, Akim of the Turkestan region.
Schoolchildren will learn to effectively use communication, critical thinking, public speaking and negotiation skills. Optional classes, monthly meetings, master classes, leadership trainings with the participation of well-known personalities and annual conferences with the awarding of the best pupils are planned.

“We are looking forward to the start of the academic year, when the guys will start their studies at the Leadership Academy. This is a comprehensive program, thanks to which in a few years we will form among the youth a stable pool of leaders with an active life position, who will be able to reveal themselves more brightly, prove themselves and show their talents not only to Kazakhstan, but to the whole world,” said Marat Aitmagambetov, Director of the Bulat Utemuratov’s Foundation.
