Ermek Kosherbayev visited Assyl Miras autism center in Astana

Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Ermek Kosherbayev visited the Assyl Miras autism center in Astana.

The purpose of the visit was to get familiarized with the work of one of the 13 centers opened within the framework of the program “Autism. One World for All” implemented by the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation since 2015.

At the Assyl Miras center, the Ermek Kosherbayev inspected the classrooms, got acquainted with the applied behavior analysis (ABA) methods used, and talked with teachers, parents and children attending classes here.

The autism center is engaged in key areas of work with children: development of social, educational and life skills, early support programs, as well as the JASPER method.

Director of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation Ainur Karbozova spoke in detail about the goals and approaches of each program, focusing on an individual approach to each child. Particular importance is given to supporting families, which allows for comprehensive assistance, promotes adaptation and active participation of parents in the development of their child.

“The Assyl Miras Center has been providing free services to children with autism spectrum disorders for 10 years, introducing the best international practices and ensuring high quality of assistance,” she noted.

Ermek Kosherbayev noted that supporting children with special educational needs is an important task that requires coordination of efforts by the state, specialists and society.

The Assyl Miras centers make a huge contribution to solving this problem. Here, conditions are created in which each child receives qualified assistance based on international methodology,” he said.

The Bulat Utemuratov Foundation has been implementing the “Autism. One World for All” program for 10 years. There are 13 free Assyl Miras centers operating throughout Kazakhstan. They provide qualified assistance to children, and work with parents as well. Over the years of implementation of the program, more than 16 thousand children and their families have received support.
