Issues of children autism were discussed at KAZDENTEXPO-YUG-2019 exhibition
Issues of children autism were the key topic of KAZDENTEXPO-YUG-2019 exhibition, which will be held on September 17-18, 2019 in Shymkent city.

According to the data of CDC, during last years the number of children with diagnosed autism spectrum disorders (ASD) has increased. If in 2000 autism was detected in one of 150 children, then now it is one per 59 children.
Due to peculiarities of behavior, communications and interactions, children with autism require special attention of a dentist and adaptation to dental treatment, however, there are no special training programs for children dentists and teachers for work with ASD children in Kazakhstan.
The organising committee of KAZDENTEXPO-2019 International Special Dental Exhibition and Almaty Dental Post-Graduate Institute (ADPI) with the support of the Bulat Utemuratov’s Foundation initiated the opening of the first social project in the Republic of Kazakhstan “Children Stomatology and Autism”. Head of the “Children Stomatology and Autism” project is Elmira Turganovna Supiyeva, Doctor of Medical Science, Professor, Provost for Innovations of ADPI. The first step in the project implementation was the training seminar “Stomatological problems in children with autism spectrum disorders and ways of their solution” in May 2019 within the framework of KAZDENTEXPO-2019 in Almaty city. Children dentists and parents of children with autism participated in the correction programs of the Asyl Miras Almaty Autism Center of the Bulat Utemuratov’s Foundation took part in the training seminar. Speaker of the training seminar became Doctor of Medical Science, Professor Inessa Igorevna Yakubova, head of the Children Preventive Dentistry Division of the Kiev Medical University (Kiev city, Ukraine). The project was continued in Shymkent city, where the Bulat Utemuratov’s Foundation within the framework of its program “Autism. One World for All” in June of this year opened the seventh Asyl Miras Autism Center in the country. On September 17, training seminar “Peculiarities of Stomatological Status and Treatment in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders” will be conducted there. Training specialist will be Alma Aukhitovna Zamurayeva, Doctor of Medical Science, Professor of the Orthopedic and Children Stomatology Division of Astana Medical University JSC (Nur-Sultan city, Kazakhstan). Moreover, within the framework of KAZDENTEXPO-YUG-2019, presentation of same-name report will be held in the International Congress of Dentists “Future Stomatology – Way to Success”. The Bulat Utemuratov’s Foundation implements program “Autism. One World for All”, within which Asyl Miras Autism Centers were established in seven cities of Kazakhstan (Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent, Aktobe, Kyzylorda, Uralsk and Ust-Kamenogorsk), where the specialists of the Foundation help to develop necessary skills in children with autism spectrum disorders on a non-repayable basis. Currently, work for opening of another three Autism Centers in Shymkent, Pavlodar and Petropavlovsk is in progress. Since 2015, over 8 thousand children visited Asyl Miras Centers. Now, about 7.2 thousand of children are included in the waiting list for diagnostics, 3.7 thousand children participate in the programs, of them 2.9 thousand completed the programs.
